NATIONAL PRAYER ALTAR
MARATHON PRAYERS
Monday 31st July – Sunday 5th August 2023
Please go through the short prologue below before you pray.
In 1995, four ministers presented a revelation aimed at calling the Church to repentance and national reconciliation based on Isaiah 32: 9 – 18. The call was heeded, by Church leaders, which led to a day of National Prayers for Repentance and Reconciliation on 30th September 1995. That was 28 years ago. Since then, the situation in Nigeria seems to have gone from bad to worse. What could be the reason for this?
Isaiah 32: 10 says, “Many days and years shall you be troubled, …” None of us can controvert this word. Trouble seems to have made Nigeria its headquarters, in the past few years. In the same passage, the solution is provided for the country. Verse 15 says, “Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, …”
The conclusion is thus clear, that we shall be troubled for many days and years until “the Spirit be poured upon us from on high, …” The outpouring of the Spirit of God will produce the following results in the Church, as well as in the country:
1. Genuine repentance
2. Deliverance and restoration of the land
3. Righteousness, justice, and peace
4. Soul winning and genuine discipleship
5. Establishment of the kingdom of God
6. Brotherly love and kindness
7. Restoration of holiness
8. etc.
From this week, we shall focus prayers on the outpouring of the Spirit of God upon Nigeria. Incidentally, this week is very crucial as the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal shall begin to round up its hearing and, hopefully, give judgment. An outpouring of the Holy Ghost shall guarantee truth, righteousness, and justice in our courts.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Thank God for sustaining Nigeria in the days and years of trouble. The multiple crises that Nigeria went through in the past few years would have scattered some other countries. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed. Lamentations 3: 22 – 23
2. Isaiah 32: 15 – 18 Pray that the Spirit of God shall be poured upon Nigeria to produce fruitfulness, judgment, righteousness, and peace in the country.
Petition God that the days and years of trouble must give way now for the outpouring of the Spirit of God.
3. Joel 2: 28 – 29 Pray that God shall sanctify Nigerians through the outpouring of His Spirit upon the country.
4. Ps. 85: 4 – 7 Pray for revival in the land. Pray for revival of soul winning and good works.
Pray that the revival will begin with you.
5. Isaiah 1: 26 – 27 Pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Justices in all the Elections Petitions Tribunals and indeed, in all our courts.
6. 2 Cor. 6: 2 – Now is the accepted time, behold, now is the day of salvation.
Pray that the salvation of Nigeria shall no longer delay.
Holy Ghost, fall upon Nigeria. Let the Spirit of God be poured upon us.
7. Pray for Godly and righteous leadership at all levels of governance in Nigeria.
